So that the Necros surrounding it have a strong connection to the marker signal. What serano ment was that the signal that powers the necromorphs (yes the marker powers necromorphs bet you haven't heard that before) is only amplified along the chain. Second the hive mind or nexus is not controlling the necromorphs. It's only a matter of time.įor one, the hive mind, or nexus as it should really be called is no different from the nexus on toa volantis, the only exception being the sepecies that make up the necromorph. So even if some remnant of humanity manages to escape the Moons on Earth, there's still the threat of a new Moon being born. Now remember that Earthgov only MOVED the Black Marker. The only reason it didn't work was because the Red Marker didn't have enough raw material to work with. Tau Volantis' Moon sent us the Black Marker. Mankind almost created our own Brother Moon. Guided by the primitive brain of the Hive Mind, the Red Marker influences us to try and return it to the planet surface so that it can try to add the new necrotic biomass to itself and continue development. When the Red Marker was removed from the planet and onto the Ishimura, it just did what it was designed to do and started trying to create another Moon by starting Convergence all over again on the ship. So the Hive Mind was a botch job, barely developed, hence why it didn't possess the same godlike intellect of the other Moons. A Brother Moon needs all the biomass on an entire living world to create a new Moon. The only living things on the planet were the colonists. Or at least as close to Convergence as the discount Red Marker could manage. Only the Black Marker found on Earth was actually sent by the Moon from Tau Volantis.Ĭonvergence happened on Aegis VII. Remember that the Red Marker was a manmade construct. And it wasn't produced by the other Moons. They said that it was controlling the Necromorphs, but later we find out that the Moons are actually the ones controlling them. The final boss of DS1 always bugged me because it seemed like it got retconned pretty obviously. Something just dawned on me in regards to Dead Space lore.

It too is only seen during the boss battle. Majora's Wrath Main article: Majora's Wrath However, other alternatives exist, such as Zora Mask, Great Fairy's Sword, etc. The best way to deal with it is to use the Fierce Deity's Mask. Majora runs around in circles and fires energy balls at Link. It really shows you just how psychotic the demon is. This form is very bizarre since Majora acts feminine and makes strange noises at the same time. This form is only seen during the boss battle. Majora's Incarnation Main article: Majora's Incarnation Without the Fierce Deity's Mask, the Zora Mask can be useful for getting its back until the bosses are summoned as at that point Majora's Mask will begin using its fire or light beams, if these hit Link in the Zora form this will end the battle, its back is its weak point and it is suggested to slash. It summons the bosses' remains to attack the hero, but they are weak and can be defeated quickly. Its attacks include spinning sideways towards Link like a saw-blade and shooting a fire beam that can be reflected. The mask literally floats in mid-air, but can be easily defeated with the Fierce Deity's Mask. It is also the first stage of the boss battle. It is a purple mask with two big yellow eyes and spikes on the side of the mask. You can help the Zelda Dungeon Wiki by expanding it.Īs the mask's original representation, this form is seen for the whole game except the very end, when Majora switches to other forms. Īfter Link defeats Majora, the evil leaves the mask, allowing the Happy Mask Salesman to reclaim it once more. The mask escapes Inside the Moon, forcing Link and Tatl to follow him there and battle the mask's evil spirit. Eventually, after Link and Tatl summon the Four Giants to stop the Moon's fall, Majora's Mask abandons Skull Kid, claiming that he was too weak to wield its power and is no longer useful. Under its sway, he sets the Moon on a course to hit Termina and destroy it. Once Skull Kid puts on the mask, his pranks slowly became worse and the power of the mask overtakes, and begins to possess him. Because he enjoys playing tricks on people, he, Tatl, and Tael knock out the Happy Mask Salesman and steal Majora's Mask. Some time before Link arrives in Termina, the Skull Kid comes across the Happy Mask Salesman in the forest. Many years later, the Happy Mask Salesman acquires Majora's Mask, sensing its ominous power. He has fairly high HP, 20% PROT, and a number of powerful moves. The Miller is a very powerful soul, considering his nature as a shriveled husk. This can create a situation where the only ability the Miller can use is The Reaping, and he will use it twice in one round, which can be very painful for the party. The Miller has fairly long cooldowns on all of his abilities except for The Reaping. Additionally, the hero with Mildred's Locket takes no damage from The Reaping, and deals +40% extra damage to the Miller. Equipping it will have the unique effect of giving the Miller a new ability, Immortal Beloved, which debuffs himself by removing his inherent PROT for a short time. Lastly, an important note about this battle is the existence of the trinket Mildred's Locket (obtained from interacting with the husk of the Miller's wife, Mildred, found before the battle). It is very unique in that it will actually heal a hero's stress, while giving the Miller a modest heal and a short buff for +15% PROT. The Miller also has the rarely-used ability The Harvest, which can only be used if at least one hero has over 50 stress, and the Miller is below 70% health. If it survives for 3 or more turns, it may use The Soil Thaws to revert itself back to a normal Farmhand. It also has a 0-damage attack called Hollow Keening that deals a fair bit of stress and Horror. The Frozen Farmhand will permanently guard the Miller, and disable all guard skills for heroes while it is alive. If a Farmhand is present on the battlefield, the Miller will use Winter's Breath to transform it into a Frozen Farmhand, a unique enemy found only during this battle. The enemies the Miller summons do roll initiatives, and will be able to act as soon as they are summoned. He can also summon various enemies from the Farmstead with The Master Beckons, including Scarecrows, Sleeper's Heralds, and Farmhands, with a cooldown of 7, 5, and 8 turns, respectively. The Miller has a versatile set of skills, with his most offensive attack being The Reaping, a skill that inflicts heavy AoE damage, especially to heroes in the front.
